about the rabbit hole

Brian and I started Outta the Rabbit Hole project with pallet wood. 212 pallets of wood to be more precise. Which we took apart, getting five or six pieces of 32" wood that we could use per pallet; then each piece was sanded, treated, stained and finished three times before being placed in the wonderful installation that surrounds you at The Rabbit Hole. Lewis Carroll meets Steampunk with a touch of Empire, some Industrial and a whole lotta imagination. Wherever we could, 'made in the USA' mattered. Beautiful Rustic Red Oak milled in Western Maryland. Sconces and light fixtures from upstate New York. Our wonderfully whimsical mural commission for design and painting to local MoCo and Derwood artist Melissa Tenholder. All with the goal of creating a place that we'd like to party in. Not too big. Not too small. We hope it's just right for you.
